Greetings all,
We've been on a Greenworks network-building binge the past few months. The biggest news we have to share is that we signed a five year partnership agreement with Khairun University in Ternate, Indonesia, to continue building our collaboration, including building capacity by training teachers in project-based learning, continuing to support student community projects, and publishing on our work together. While in Ternate, we were able to check in on the student projects that we previously funded and found big success for the composting business, to which the univeristy has provided additional funding, built a composting house, and now uses it as a teaching lab for more students.
Additional networking took place with Hartnell College in Salinas, California, and the University of the Virign Islands, USVI, with whom we'll be working to build partnerships, especially on the technology front of the program. Similarly, we chatted with a geoinformatics company in Košice, Slovakia, to provide students in our program with opportunities in mapping and land use analysis.
Current plans for Greenworks include finalizing the teacher training materials for project-based learning and running Brazilian teachers-in-training, and our Indoneseia and Ukrainian colleagues through the materials to strengthen their skills in project-based learning before running new cohorts of students through Greenworks in early 2024, in partnership with our US partners during that time.
Thank you again for your donations during our March fundraising event. It was a record haul for us and will help keep the program funded for the next year.
With gratitude,
Lev
