Global Updates

By Lev Horodyskyj | Founder

Greetings all,

Due to the holidays, things have been quiet on the Greenworks front for the past few months.  Here are a few quick updates:

Brazil - Dr. Roberto Greco is working with the Guapiruvu community on an event called Arapuca 2026.  During this event, Guapiruvu youths visited nearby museums to learn about snakes and bees.  The January event was interrupted by inclement weather, so that group will be reconvening this weekend to complete observations and hikes in the Carlos Botelhos State Park in order to build familiarity with the tropical rain forest ecosystem.  Dr. Greco is also preparing to deliver new bee boxes to the Tekoa Nhanderu Porã indigenous community, as their hives are ready for splitting.

Ukraine - Drs. Ihor Bubniak and Andrij Bubniak have assembled together an ambitious plan for the year which will include offering of the Greenworks project design curriculum to a larger group of students as well as teacher training to partner teachers at nearby universities.  They will also be working with both on fieldwork in the Carpathian and Podilia regions of Ukraine.

Indonesia - Drs. Lily Ishak and Halikuddin Umasangaji are working to assemble a low-cost instrumentation program for Khairun University to help support Greenworks projects in Ternate.

US - Our volunteers David and Daniel are working to build an international instrumentation platform that will help our Greenworks team members build, design, test, and centralize low-cost instrumentation projects for the Greenworks network.

With gratitude,

Lev
