10 Microloans for Low-Income Families in Argentina

Melina, her husband Marcelo and their children Gonzalo and Ariana, live in the Troncos neighborhood. They have a small house in a land they share with their sister's family and their father.

Melina needed the funds to make improvements in her home. Specifically, the kitchen and bathroom ceiling needed to be redone as the house had major problems with leaks, missing plaster, and openings in very poor condition. This situation caused health problems.

In order to solve it, Melina requested a loan from Mujeres 2000. The loans we offer are small loans, which allow families who do not have access to bank loans, to have the necessary financing to carry out their projects.

In addition to the credit. She was able to access free advice from architects, who accompanied her throughout the entire process.

We provided 10 families with loans to improve their houses, helping them to improve their quality of living. In that sense, we delivered a total of 510,000 pesos in credits (5000 USD).

 
The housing emergency in Argentina is big. These loans allow families that do not have access to bank loans to have the possibility of improving their quality of life. The credits are used for the improvement of electrical installations, construction of bathrooms and building improvements that are urgent.
