Thank you for your meaningful donation to the Haiti Crisis Relief Fund. Your generosity continues to enable GlobalGiving to support its incredible network of partners across Haiti amidst a climate of insecurity, disasters, and violence.

Since you gave, donations from the Haiti Crisis Relief Fund have supported two additional grants to high-impact and community-led nonprofit organizations at the forefront of this crisis.

Here is a short description of some of the critical work you’ve supported:

  • Sonje Ayiti Organization works to provide the tools for Haitians to help themselves with a priority on three focus areas: education, economic development, and health promotion. This includes projects distributing food, seeds, water, sanitation, and hygiene supplies that help families build their income and improve their health.
  • Asosyasyon Peyizan Fondwa is a local grassroots organization working throughout Haiti on diverse projects that benefit the Fondwa community where they are based. This includes road reconstruction, livelihood creation, health promotion, education, and community development. Most recently, APF mobilized a modest gift from GlobalGiving donors to implement a ‘cash-for-work’ livelihoods program, which employed 40 people in Fondwa to repair portions of the Fondwa Road damaged by heavy rains in June of 2023. In turn, this will promote access to the Fondwa Clinic, led by APF, and provide critically needed medical care to the region.

Your support of the GlobalGiving Haiti Crisis Relief Fund is advancing community-led food security, health, disaster response, and livelihood generation. It also means people like those in Fondwa receive critical resources to help move alongside their community toward a more prosperous and peaceful future.

Thank you again.

With gratitude,

Kyra + the GlobalGiving Team

About GlobalGiving’s Disaster Response

When a disaster strikes, recovery efforts led by people who live and work in affected communities are often overlooked and underfunded. GlobalGiving is changing this reality. Since 2004, we've been shifting decision-making power to crises-affected communities through trust-based grantmaking and support.

We make it easy, quick, and safe to support people on the ground who understand needs in their communities better than anyone else.

They were there long before the news cameras arrived, and they’ll be there long after the cameras leave. They know how to make their communities more resilient to future disasters, and they’re already hard at work. GlobalGiving puts donations and grants directly into their hands. Because the status quo—which gives the vast majority of funding to a few large organizations—doesn’t make sense.
