Hand-in-Hand Dialysis Aid Program

In first quarter of 2022, our Dialysis Aid Program provided much-needed support to 33 kidney patients from the low-income or unemployed group, compared to 28 patients within the same period in 2021, so that they would be able to continue their dialysis treatment with ease. All these would not have been made possible without the kind and generous support from you all, our esteemed kind-hearted donor! Each patient receives dialysis fee subsidy ranging from RM260 to RM1,500 per month to ease their burden. From these 33 beneficiaries, 10 are new cases.

GHCA had received enquiries from four underprivileged dialysis patient recently who required fistula surgery assistance urgently in order to undergo haemodialysis treatment safely.

This medical surgery cost ranges from RM2000 to RM5000, and this is such a huge expense for the dialysis patient's family to bear on, especially during the current economic uncertainties.

After speaking with the patients, GHCA concluded that the fistula surgery is vital for each of the dialysis patients because it reduces the risk of virus infection by allowing them to receive dialysis treatment via their hands after the surgery rather than via their neck before surgery.

Thus, GHCA assisted these four patients with their medical surgery fees, after which we continued with providing them with dialysis aid accordingly to the needs of the patients.

We are grateful to have been able to assist these families in completing their surgeries, and we wish them a speedy recovery!
