Summary

This project will provide specialized psychosocial support for adolescents undergoing cancer treatment and their caregivers at Fundacion Camino. through a psychosocial team who will implement, therapy, support groups, and recreational activities, it will strengthen resilience and improve emotional well-being of patience and caregivers living in the Foundation. By fostering a supportive community this initiative will help families navigate the challenges of cancer with greater stability and hope.

Challenge

Young cancer patients and their caregivers face severe emotional distress due to prolonged treatments, separation from family, and lack of specialized mental health support. This project addresses their psychological and social needs by providing expert psycho-oncological therapy, group support, and recreational activities. By improving emotional resilience and well-being, it enhances their ability to cope with treatment and fosters a supportive community.

Solution

This project provides psycho-oncological therapy, support groups, and recreational activities for young cancer patients and their caregivers. Individual and group therapy help manage stress, fear, and emotional exhaustion. Creative and social activities promote resilience and community support. By fostering emotional well-being and strengthening coping skills, the program enhances treatment adherence and quality of life, creating a lasting impact on patients and their families.

Long-Term Impact

This project improves the mental health of young cancer patients and their caregivers, reducing stress, isolation, and emotional exhaustion. By providing therapy, support groups, and community activities, it strengthens resilience and family bonds. Around 80 people annually will benefit, fostering a lasting support network. In the long term, it enhances treatment adherence, emotional well-being, and quality of life, creating a model for future expansion and broader impact.
