Dear future and prospective donors,
We thank you for taking the time to learn about this project. Your interest gives us the encouragement to continue working on an issue that affects some of the most vulnerable households in our communities.
In Nigeria, about 15 million children are orphans, according to UNICEF, and over 3 million widows live with little or no access to healthcare. Many of them are unable to pay hospital bills, buy medicines, or attend regular check-ups. When illness strikes, families often delay treatment or turn to unsafe alternatives. This puts lives at risk and deepens poverty.
This project is designed to cover basic healthcare costs for widows and orphans in need. It will focus on medical check-ups, treatment for common illnesses, emergency care, and access to prescribed medicines. By reducing the burden of hospital costs, widows can care for their children with less fear of financial ruin, and orphans can receive timely care rather than being left untreated.
The urgent need for this project cannot be overstated. With Nigeria’s out-of-pocket health expenditure standing at nearly 77% (World Bank), widows and orphans often fall into cycles of debt or remain untreated. This project will provide a safety net for them, giving hope where none existed before.
We look forward to your donations and partnership in bringing this vision to life. Every contribution, no matter the size, will go directly to healthcare coverage for those who have nowhere else to turn.
Sincerely,
Joy O. Etubi
