Dear Donors,
Thank you for your support and for standing with us to protect vulnerable widows and orphans in Nigeria. Your generosity gives hope to people who have lost family support due to conflict, natural disasters, and preventable diseases.
Millions of widows and orphans face serious challenges accessing healthcare. Many live in slums, under bridges, or in overcrowded IDP camps. Without medical support, common illnesses often become life-threatening. The Health Coverage for Widows and Orphans in Need project is designed to provide basic health coverage for 1,500 widows and orphans through hospital bill support, medicines, regular check-ups, health education, and essential items such as mosquito nets, sanitary pads, and clean birth supplies.
Based on cost estimates from HMOs with physical presence in the project areas, the available funds can currently cover six families at a cost of $106 per family for the period of one (1) year, with a surgical limit of $230. The next step is to identify and enroll widows and orphans and link them to suitable hospitals and HMOs. In our next report, we hope to share photos of beneficiaries, along with the names of their chosen hospitals and the HMO involved.
While implementation are underway, more support is needed to enable us reach and cover more families. May God bless you, and thank you for your kindness.
Warm regards,
Joy Ojochogwu Etubi
