This project will provide essential health screenings for 1,000 children enrolled in public schools across Niger State, Nigeria. Many of these children suffer from untreated illnesses that negatively affect their learning and overall wellbeing. Through schoolbased medical checkups, vaccinations, basic treatments, and referrals, the project ensures that children stay healthy, remain in school, and have the opportunity to thrive academically.
Children in Niger State's public schools often lack access to basic healthcare. Poverty, long distances to clinics, and limited health infrastructure mean that many illnesses go undetected and untreated. These preventable health issues lead to absenteeism, poor academic performance, and longterm health complications. By supporting this project, you help bridge the healthcare gap for vulnerable schoolchildren, giving them the foundation they need for a healthier and more successful future.
The initiative will: 1. Organize school health camps in public schools across Niger State 2. Provide comprehensive health screenings for 1,000 children 3. Offer vaccinations, basic treatments, and medications 4. Refer children with serious conditions to partner clinics 5. Educate families and teachers on preventive healthcare and hygiene practices
Each year, at least 1,000 children in Niger State public schools will benefit from improved health and early detection of illnesses. Over time, this will: Reduce school absenteeism, Improve academic performance, Lower longterm healthcare costs for families, Strengthen community awareness of preventive health, and Contribute to healthier, more resilient school communities.
