Overview:
The project has officially commenced, focusing on planning, stakeholder engagement, and groundwork for implementation. Initial steps have been taken to ensure smooth delivery of health screening services to 1,000 children across selected public schools.

Key Achievements:

  • Established partnerships with selected public schools across Niger State
  • Engaged local healthcare professionals and volunteers to support upcoming health camps
  • Developed a detailed implementation schedule for school visits
  • Began procurement process for basic medical supplies, screening tools, and medications
  • Initiated awareness campaigns targeting school administrators, teachers, and parents

Current Status:

  • Project implementation is in its early phase
  • No screenings have been conducted yet as logistics and coordination are being finalized
  • Community response and school participation have been positive and encouraging

Challenges Encountered:

  • Major delays in procurement of medical supplies
  • Coordination timelines with some schools required adjustments due to academic schedules

Next Steps:

  • Complete procurement of all required medical equipment and supplies
  • Finalize schedule and commence school-based health screening camps
  • Begin first phase of screenings and data collection
  • Continue community sensitization on child health and hygiene
