Quality health care for children like Luis

By Ana Maria Londono | Lider de proyecto

We all contribute to the health of 60,000 children in Colombia. In the last three months, we achieved different advances to improve the spaces where we service children's lives. With your donations, we expanded the Pediatric Critical Care Unit, where 800 people benefited. We built family rooms, a space for the children's companions, equipped with a washing machine, dryer, kitchen, and resting place. We also made improvements to the infrastructure of the Children's Hospital.

The advances have benefited more than 2,000 people. Luis and his family are among them.

Luis is five years old, is from Valledupar, and likes to dance vallenato. His mother describes him as a "happy" child. In September 2022 was hospitalized for low saturation and asthma. His diagnosis is pulmonary hypertension, and they resorted to catheterization as the first measure. Now he is waiting for some tests to decide what will be the next step to improve Luis' health conditions.

For Isabel, his mother, it is a relief that her son has started his treatment at the Children's Hospital because where they live, they do not have the necessary supplies to treat his diagnosis. She is grateful for the donations of people with big hearts because, while in the hospital, she can have nice, clean, and adequate spaces for her son to recover.

Thank you! Because of your contributions in 2022, Luis and more than 500 children have gained access to quality health care. We hope to continue counting on you in 2023.
