Although we had scheduled a trip to the indigenous communities in the past month of October, due to COVID crisis and a fuel supply problem in the indigenous territory of Amazonas State, the government did not authorize us access to our usual work area for the entire month of October.
In November, they again denied us the supply of fuel because it was needed for politicians to access that area for the election campaign in December.
So, we had to delay our trip to the indigenous communities till next February.
But that has not meant that we were detained, because although we have not been able to travel to Amazonas on the scheduled dates, we have continued working in other indigenous territories of Bolívar State, serving a total of 250 people.
