December concert. 'A Crescendo of Dreams'

It's almost Christmas! We have been busy the past three months.

Here are some of our news:

In September we welcomed to our musical family Iris from Austria, João from Portugal, Armando from Croatia, and Thekla and Elina from Cyprus. These 5 young people will be with us for the next year through the European Solidarity Corps Project 'Agents of Change'. The European Solidarity Corps is a new EU initiative which creates opportunities for young people aged 18-30 to volunteer on projects in their own country or abroad, in aid of communities and people all over Europe.

In mid- October young music mentors from our programme had the chance to present our work at the event ‘Representation Matters! The Impact of Representation in Children's Literature, Media, and Toys’, organized by Generation for Change CY as part of the #makeracismhistory Festival by the European Network Against Racism - ENAR. An important moment and space to see our children growing up and giving back to their society.

In late October Cypriot musician Chrysanthi Schiza offered our children a private concert at our premises, where she presented and performed songs from her first personal album, showing our young musicians how dreams come true when you chase them.

In December 160 children went on stage and performed their concert ‘A Crescendo of dreams’ under the direction of Guest Conductor renown Venezuelan Maestro Ruben Cova Villalobos. Just like our orchestra, the concert’s programme was diverse with compositions from America, Turkey, Cyprus, Russia, England, Portugal, Colombia, Mexico and Venezuela.
