Over the past three months, Sistema Cyprus has continued to create meaningful musical and educational opportunities for children and young people, while strengthening international partnerships and celebrating important milestones within our community.
A Summer of Music, Learning and Inclusion
Our annual summer concert, A Summer Serenade, brought together more than 160 children from our five orchestras in a celebration of music, collaboration, and community. A special highlight was the participation of internationally acclaimed Polish violinist Roksana Kwasnikowska, who worked closely with our advanced students through rehearsals and mentoring sessions before joining our Intermediate Orchestra as the featured soloist in Saint-Saëns' Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso. Performing alongside a world-class musician gave our young musicians an invaluable opportunity to develop their artistic skills, confidence, and ambition.
The concert also celebrated the power of music to promote inclusion and cultural understanding. As part of our World Music Day celebrations, our performance of Ritmos Ciganos highlighted how collective music-making can bring together people from different cultures and backgrounds, reinforcing Sistema Cyprus' commitment to belonging, diversity, and social change through music.

Celebrating Student Success
We were proud to celebrate two exceptional achievements within the Sistema Cyprus family. Julia Shalash was accepted to the prestigious Yehudi Menuhin School in the UK, while Goldwin Antzoulis secured a place at Finland's renowned Sibelius Academy. These accomplishments reflect years of dedication and the transformative impact of sustained music education.
Building International Connections
Sistema Cyprus continued strengthening its European collaborations. Our Teaching Artists participated in the MEED 5 professional network in Dublin, exchanging best practices in music education and social inclusion, while our European Solidarity Corps volunteer represented Cyprus at miniSEYO 2026 in Milan, performing alongside young musicians from Sistema-inspired programmes across Europe.
We also launched MusicACT, a new two-year Creative Europe project that will support young musicians through mentoring, international exchanges, entrepreneurship training, and career development opportunities. Find out more about the project here.
