We've got a spring in our step this April!

Melange Musical concert coming up
Melange Musical concert coming up

It's spring time and that means one thing in the world of music, concerts galore!

Whilst our Beginner Orchestra had their very first exclusive concert, appearing on stage on their own for the first time, with great success, our Intermediate Orcheestra is in final rehearsals for their own concert on April 20th.

On Saturday, April 20, 2024, 'Mélange Musical' concert is coming to take people on a journey  with a medley of tunes  at the Municipal Theater of Strovolos at 19:00. Sistema Cyprus in collaboration with the Murathènes organization from France will present over 100 musicians on stage, including Sistema Cyprus students from Nicosia and Larnaca, as well as young people from the Cantal region in France, under the direction of the conductor Santiago Ossa Alzate.

The orchestras will present a multicultural program, with compositions from Cyprus, France, Russia, Cuba, Portugal, and Czech Republic.  Whilst the concert will be a unique experience, our young musicians can't wait for rehearsals with the young musicians from France!

In other news.... March signaled the completion of the first phase of InMus Project: ‘From youth to professionalism: Employability Skills in Music!

This project is implemented in Cyprus and Portugal by the consortium partners Sistema Cyprus and Orquestra Geracao and aims to offer career guidance and job skills training in the professional field of music to young musicians who are participating in Sistema- inspired social music projects.

The project will strengthen the employability of young musicians from marginalised communities, while also developing an attractive education and training programme in line with the individual needs and expectations of young musicians with fewer opportunities. The project is co-funded under the Erasmus+, KA210-YOU - Small-scale partnerships in youth.

Keep supporting us, there is so much music can do in bringing about change!
