In light of the current situation in Yemen with high burden of communicable and non-communicable diseases, the COVID-19 has present since March 2020, and spreading unmitigated and unchecked across the country. This project aim to Tackle the Impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic on 300 marginalized, vulnerable women & girls, through identifying and mainstream a priority adaptation activities that would support & build a sustainable income sources in order to recovered and protected their lives.
Unability to respond adequately to COVID-19 outbreak could lead to millions of people dying from complications of existing high prevalence of underlying medical conditions and caseloads of preventable illnesses. Public health officials warn that the combination of extreme vulnerability and low general immunity puts Yemen at exceptional risk, with deadlier consequences than almost anywhere else. unless steps to suppress and address COVID-19 are immediately scaled-up.
Within the key overarching goal and project objectives, the foundation will tackle the COVID-19 impact, through using an innovative, evidence-based model that leverages the voices, talent, and leadership of marginalized women & girls at their communities, and involving the national women's organizations. This is including organize the workshops/ events to design & suggest a suitable options in order to recover, improve their exits livelihood & enhancing a sustainable income sources for them.
The project will 1) Support 175 marginalized, vulnerable women & girls in Hodeidah through provide a sustainable income sources, and support 125 marginalized, vulnerable women & girls through improving their exits livelihood in order to recovered and protected their lives. 2) Educate 1,500 marginalized, vulnerable women & girls on COVID-19, which will improving their knowledge on COVID-19 prevention, control, and case identification.
