400 Rural Children Provided scholastic materials

By Zachery Onyango | Project Leader

Thanks to the generous support from the Martyn Lucas Investor Family, 400 children in rural Uganda received books, pens, and pencils — the simple but essential tools that help them stay focused, confident, and actively engaged in school. For many children in underserved communities, lacking basic scholastic materials is not a small inconvenience; it is a barrier to learning and self-worth. Without notebooks, students are forced to combine multiple subjects into one book, making revision difficult. Without pens or pencils, they miss taking notes entirely, falling behind despite their eagerness to learn. This initiative is deeply personal. Growing up, I often combined several subjects in one notebook and sometimes missed taking notes because I did not have a pen. I understand the quiet embarrassment of lacking what every child should naturally have. No child should feel ashamed simply because they do not have the basic tools for learning. By providing these essential supplies, we are doing more than distributing stationery — we are restoring confidence, promoting equal participation in the classroom, and helping keep children in school. Access to basic learning materials directly contributes to improved attendance, stronger academic performance, and reduced dropout rates. We invite you to join us in ensuring that more children remain in school and have the opportunity to acquire quality education. Together, we can remove small but powerful barriers and give every child the dignity and tools they deserve to succeed.
