We extend our heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering support of The NGAO Foundation’s education program. Your generosity continues to transform lives, creating opportunities for young scholars to achieve their dreams. In the last quarter, we witnessed remarkable milestones made possible by your kindness and commitment.
Wilkister Ihaji: A Story of Triumph
We celebrate Wilkister Ihaji, one of the beneficiaries of your generosity, who recently graduated with a distinction in Business Management. This outstanding achievement fills us with immense pride and serves as an inspiration to other students, proving that hard work and dedication yield success.
Wilkister’s journey has not been easy. Just four years ago, she faced enormous challenges that threatened her academic progress. However, her life took a transformative turn when she joined The NGAO Foundation Mentorship Program. Through this program, she found support, guidance, and encouragement, which enabled her to persevere and excel. Her story is a testament to the power of resilience and the impact of mentorship. We celebrate Wilkister’s bravery, determination, and self-realization, and we sincerely thank you for being a crucial part of her journey.
Mercy Home Visit: A Call for Stability
On February 14th, 2025, our journey led us to Katheka Primary Boarding School, where we visited Mercy Mwende, a bright and determined Grade 8 student under the NGAO Foundation scholarship. Mercy’s education has been made possible through your generosity. Your support has alleviated the financial burden on her family, allowing her to focus on her studies.
During our visit, we ensured that all of Mercy’s tuition and school expenses for 2025 were fully covered. However, we were met with distressing news—Mercy had fallen ill just a day prior and was taken home by her uncle. Concerned for her well-being, we followed up and found her in poor health. We immediately took her to a dispensary, where she was diagnosed with amoebiasis due to contaminated water at school. Thankfully, with medical attention, she has now recovered and returned to school.
Mercy’s teachers praise her for her academic excellence and resilience. However, outside school, she faces harsh realities. The loss of her mother has left her family scattered and struggling. Mercy, the youngest, has no permanent home, moving from place to place. Her brother, Philip, a hardworking young man, had aspirations of providing a home for her but was unable to complete the construction of their house due to financial constraints.
To provide Mercy with stability, we seek a one-time support of $700 to help Philip complete the roofing of their house. This would not only give Mercy a secure home but also prevent the risk of their family losing their land to ongoing disputes.
Life Skills Talks with Students
In the last quarter, The NGAO Foundation facilitated four sessions on life skills, emphasizing the importance of resilience, personal growth, and academic excellence. These sessions are crucial in empowering children with the skills they need to navigate life’s challenges and make informed decisions about their futures. Your support enables us to continue providing these vital conversations, shaping confident and empowered young individuals.
Gratitude and Moving Forward
We deeply appreciate your commitment to transforming lives through education. The success stories of Wilkister, and Mercy are powerful reminders of how your generosity is making a lasting impact. Your continued support ensures that more children receive the education, stability, and mentorship they need to build promising futures.
Thank you for standing with us in this journey of change. Together, we are shaping brighter futures and uplifting communities.
