By Matthew Aidoo | Projects Coordinator
Though donations we are receiving are still low, we have worked hard with the project communities to move our project forward. Our effort in the last three months was aimed at completing two outstanding Hand Dug Wells as indicated in our last report. These efforts and donations received in the last quarter enable us to buy one hand pump, which was used to fix and complete the Well at Odumasi community, where clean water is now being accessed by the 300 population of the community. The entire community members including children are so thrilled about the completion of the Hand Dug Well. They are very grateful to TRYAWCO and people who donated to make this possible. The community members including Yaa Bonsu (not real name) believes her life and those of her 7 children will not remain the same.
Presently we shall need more donations to buy at least 5 hand pumps to complete the outstanding Well at Zakari community as well as the 4 new ones almost ready for completion before close of 2013. Kofi Minta (not real name) who is a member of the Zakari community is very eager to see this happen before end of year.
We are now on Globalgiving UK and this was made possible by Helen Denyer during a visit to our project on 5-9 August 2013. We therefore hope donors in UK would see our project and donate generously to help us achieve the aims and objectives of our project.
Project reports on GlobalGiving are posted directly to globalgiving.org by Project Leaders as they are completed, generally every 3-4 months. To protect the integrity of these documents, GlobalGiving does not alter them; therefore you may find some language or formatting issues.
