Salariin Kampuchea Learning Center is providing non-formal education program through foreign languages (English, Chinese) and IT. In order to improve our teaching and learning process for our kids and teachers, we developed our infrastructure in our school. Please see our activities with our students and teachers as follows.
Outside library painting
Library walls outsides looks older for our students and children. So teachers, librarian and kids improve them nicer. To complete this mission, our teachers, librarians and students are motivated to paint the walls. They are passionate to development wall with different color paints. Please see reality of our students and staff.
Classroom decoration and painting
Every year, our school always restructure our materials and decoration in classrooms and outsides. Especially, this year our pupils and young learners are happy to help painting their classroom, walls and decorate some posters in their classrooms. These, they looked passionate to learn how to paint, they learn how to work in the team with hard work that they never do it before but they are happy to share their energy at school. We have a plan but if we don’t do it, it never happens. So help and support from our staff, teachers and students are important and solidarized.
For example, Vireak. He is 10 years old shared expression about helping school’s paint. “I am so very happy to join the school paint because I want to see my school look nice and more colors. Esspecially, my classroom. I hope my friends will be happy too to see paints and decoration. Thanks school and teachers that get me involved”.
Community Engagement
We improve children’ and parents’ knowledge and skills by engaging them on training and workshop. In the last few months, we arranged and conducted traffic law workshop for our students and parents to understand better about road safe travelling and avoiding traffic accident. We cooperated with Police Department in Siem Reap to invite the police expert to share traffic signs, traffic law, traffic punishment and safe drive and avoid accident. There were more a hundred students and parents join the workshop. The parents and students are very happy to learn them. This remains traffic accident reduction and loss of lives and assets in the community.
One parent, express her feeling to join the workshop. “I am Han. I am a parent. I think it is very good and useful workshop for everyone because we can many things about road traffic. If everyone can have a chance to learn rules of traffic, signs, and travel prioritized direction, our people will not hurt and harm from it.
Gathering for a party
To enthusiastic and congratulate to students who graduated successfully from English, Chinese, and IT courses, we celebrated a certificate party for our students. They were very pleased to their success. They worked very hard to pass the exams in their program. Finally, they had a farewell dinner with friends, teachers and parents at our school before they had Khmer New Year Festival after they received a certificate.
In the next three months, we are going to build a consultative office room, and fix a road in front of the learning center. We are going to conduct a spelling bee competition.
We would like to thanks everyone who supported us through GlobalGiving with your hard-earning money. Width your help we hope to continue and build upon the success of our non-formal education program.
