ACHIEVEMENTS
Khmer New Year Celebration
In April 2024, we celebrated Khmer New Year party for our young people. Our students, teachers and staff joined the celebration and party. We did many traditional Khmer games. We arranged and organized lucky draw the kids and we offered farewell dinners for our students. They really enjoyed it with their friends and classmates.
As a result, there were around 300 young students participated in the celebration of Khmer New Year. We organized Khmer traditional games such as Choul Chhoung “throw the scarf”, Tienh Prot “Push and Pull string”, sack jumping, hit the port and tree leave catching…etc. We perform dance and sing songs competition on the stage. Finally, we offer food to our students.
For example, our student, Durin, one of our students in general English program. She mentioned her feeling about the Khmer New Year celebration at our school. “I am so very exciting to play our traditional games with my friend. I dance with traditional and modern music. It makes me happy when I dance together with my friends. I am extremely exciting to have a farewell dinner with my school mates”.
English Speaking Contest
We organized a local English-speaking English for our students to promote English speaking environment at our school. As a result, there were 34 students were selected to the final competition. During the competition, we have two head teachers to be judges/speaking committee. There are two group levels. Beginner and elementary group. We allow all participants to have 3 minutes to present their topic. We judge the contestants by their English fluency, pronunciation, greeting style, eye contact, body language, vocabulary, introduction to topic, topic details, and conclusion. Each contestant come and talk about their topic one by one. Finally, there were 6 students became champion speakers for number 1 (Golden medal), number 2 (silver medal), and number 3 (prone medal). We offered all contestants one certificate each and for the winners got awards, study materials and certificate winners. We experienced and learnt that when we arrange the competition for students, the students’ participation and learning outcomes become worthy and positive changes.
Our student, Panhvoan, one of our students who studying in Let’s go 6 class (elementary). He expressed his feeling about Public English Speaking. “I am so very very happy to join the competition. I am so proud of myself when I got number 2 in the English-speaking contest. I think it is important to learn even harder so we can get this award or winning. I am happy to share this success to my classmates for the next competition. Thanks to our school, teachers and managers who organized this competition”.
In the next three months, we are going to bring our students to visit Angkor wildlife and aquarium. We are going to conduct toothbrushing project with our kids. We are going to arrange the traffic law workshop for students and their parents in our school.
