Positive Impact

Young students and their visit Angkor Wildlife and Aquarium

By the end of July 2024, we brought our students and their parents to visit Angkor Wildlife and Aquarium in Siem Reap province. Our teachers and staff also joined the visit in order to lead and manage the group of parents and students. We divided into two shifts, the morning and afternoon group.

As a result, there were 190 young students and parents visited Angkor Wildlife and Aquarium. They learnt and realized different wildlife that they never know before for some animals, wildlife such as reptiles, birds and sea fishes. They also feel more relaxed and freshen. They mostly stay home most of the time with parents during the weekend but when we organized this trip, parents and children are closed and they fulfill their parenting cares to their children. Moreover, we both, parents and school staff retained more closed relationship and improved communication between school and parents.

For example, our student, Vireak, one of our students in general English program. He mentioned his feeling about visiting Angkor Wildlife and Aquarium. “I am so very exciting to have this opportunity with my friends to visit the aquarium here. I never see the sea water, sea fishes, animals. I never see different snakes like these, I feel I am under the sea. It makes me and my mum, my dad relaxed and closed. I am extremely exciting to have this kind of trip with my school mates and my teachers, too. I hope we will have another visit somewhere else. It is important that we love nature, biodiersity and we take of them as they have life like us. Thank you very much my school and teachers, Salariin Kampuchea learning center that arranged this visit.

For example, one parent, Sokmean, one of students’ mum expressed her feeling about visiting Angkor Wildlife and Aquarium. “I am very happy to join the visit with my son to visit the aquarium here. I never visit it before. I can understand and realize about living things on our planet. I never see different sea fishes and animal. I am extremely exciting to see animals, birds, and living things in the aquarium. It looks like everyone is at the sea and watch wildlife. I love nature and biodiversity. We all can learn from them and relax with nature. Thank you very much to the school and teachers, Salariin Kampuchea learning center that arranged visit trip.

As a result, there were 160 students educated about how to take care and brush their teeth. 160 children got one toothbrush and one toothpaste each after the workshop.  During the workshop, they learnt what are good food for their teeth and what are bad food for their teeth. The children realized what food they should eat and what food they should avoid. Moreover, they learnt how to brush their teeth. They realized when they should brush their teeth. In addition, during the workshop, all children have practiced brushing their teeth after theory. The workshop last for 2 hours and there are two groups, the morning and after group.

Our student, Sihak, one of our students who studying in kindergarten class. He said “I am so very happy to learn how to brush my teeth, front, up and down teeth.
