The Be Enriched team has been working hard over the summer to bring communities together, and help people eat well.
Our Community Canteens have continued to see awesome volunteers spend time in the kitchen transforming surplus food into healthy, three course meals. Across the last few months, we have welcomed many individuals, including a young man from Orchard Hill College, a Special Education Needs School for young people, as well as corporate groups, taking up the challenge of working together while giving back to the Elephant and Castle and Tooting areas.
Following their Cost of Living tips, our Communications team created and shared a variety of healthy recipes that could be made from leftovers or just five ingredients. Find out more on our website.
Our Food Bus attended a number of events, giving people the chance to come together and access healthy food. During the summer the bus attended two school fetes, ran cooking workshops at Brockwell Bounce, and collaborated with Brixton People’s Kitchen to provide two weeks of holiday fun and food for children who normally receive free school meals.
We know the winter is going to be even harder for the Lambeth, Southwark and Wandsworth residents and we are going to carry on doing what we can to feed, and enrich communities. We appreciate the support of everyone who continues to donate towards out efforts.
