Children from less privileged families are attracted to join the street. The living situation at their homes pushes them to start going on the street to get food, clothes, and happiness while hanging out with their colleagues on the street. They prefer living on the street freely than staying at home with no food and parenting. To take children off the street and prevent others from joining the street requires us to strategically provide programs that attract children and music one of them.
The living situation at their homes pushes them to start going on the street so that they can get food, clothes, and happiness while hanging out with their colleagues on the street. This peer pressure seems to be more enjoyable than staying at home with no food and parenting and most of the times other children living in the same live situation tend to get attracted to live in the same life. We only work in one community and a lot of children need to access our program to transform their lives.
In partnership with Brass for Africa, many children are attracted to learn and enjoy music which give us opportunity to shape their behaviors and mindset. This is used as a tool to transform the lives of the children on street to normal life and also empower them to identify, develop and full-fill their potential. To sustain this solution, we would love to empower our senior participants to attend the Future Talent program in Kampala so as become professional music and life skills teachers.
This program does not only shape children characters, attitude & hope but it also empower participants to acquire professional skills which help them to become music experts and do different careers in music and leadership field. This project will train 3 participants to become teachers who will train at least 100 children in different communities every year. This is among our sustainable plan to start outreaches and impact big number of less privileged children and youth.
