The Plight of a Single Mother !

By Charles Olupot | Project Leader

Dear Donors,

Thank you for the support you continue to give our vulnerable communities I n Uganda. Today we bring you a story of a positive living single mother- Janet! , the. Donated you give have helped improve  her life as follows, we believe that one by one make ande and lite by like are a bundle.

Our  benefciar is a single mother of ten orphans, she is seen in the photo with her daughter, the first beneficiary, Jenifer benefited in our first report and still needs help to short her five children, she is a disabled single mother struggling to sivive ad put bead o the table.

In the story today , Janet widow, lost her husband to HIV Aids and left her with ten children to feed, cloth and give eucation 2nd medical,  and how the recent donations have been able to help her get some money to lift her business. Janet  makes mats to earn a living and £ 100 she got helped her to buy ten tolls of wire gause, she cts pupyrus reeds with the help of her older daughter and they are able to make  50 mats  in a week's time, each mat is sold at 2500/- shillings totalling about  125,000/- about  £35.

She also used £20  to buy a female pig, with this if it gives birth to about ten piglets she is able to earn good money. The cost of a mature pig is about  200,000/- shillings if it weighed over 70kgs. Ten pigs sold would earn her two million shillings in a year. So helping single mothers like this make a good benefit for with your support they can forget the pain of bringing up orphans including paying for their education, feeding, shelter and medical.

Janet is a able to grow some crops but the rains have not been good and she farms. A very small piece of land, and this land has been used for along time ad by her husband's family for many years and it has lost fertility.

Her joy however, the money has helped her sapliment her incomes in anabling her to buy much needed materials to help her mat making business and this keeps her get money's on a weekly basis to address some major problems in her house.

Today as we speak, the money earned he's by schismatic for her 7 school going children, 3 secondary Level and 5 primary, the eldest got married and has two grand kids, and two dropout and living on her, the problem is huge for her if not helped.

She laments , her accomodations is not good, maintenance is a problem since it's the work of a man who Shel lost some five year's ago, living a s widow is tuff, tank for the support she has mnged to get from Share Project, and GlobalGiving Donation s.

Her prayer, do not stopp giving, there are many windy in her condition which dream to get help but can not due to limited donations or support organizations.

She also thank who ever cared to damage, the money that has helped her, she can only say God bless he / her a million times.
