ExB trains Educator Leaders, young professionals committed to education, who are motivated to have an experience of social transformation, whose main role is to enhance the leadership of their students in vulnerable educational communities. For two years, the Educator Leaders will receive support and continuous training to strengthen their leadership skills and join a movement for systemic change in Bolivian education.
There is a shortage of items for teachers, and many of them lack the necessary training and professional development opportunities to provide quality education to their students. According to the National Council of Education of Bolivia, a lack of teacher training and professional development can limit the effectiveness of education and perpetuate low levels of academic performance. The school dropout rate in 2022 was 12% and 18% for students from rural areas.
We propose the following approach to solve education problems and drive systemic change: 1. Recruit and place Educator Leaders, we will identify teachers and young professionals from various disciplines and place them as community teachers in underserved schools. 2. We train and support Educational Leaders to acquire the skills and mindset necessary to effect changes in teaching practice, school culture, and educational outcomes in communities.
We seek to improve access to quality education for 6,000 girls and boys, from rural and marginalized communities, in schools that lack resources and limit access to quality education. To achieve this, we focus on improving the quality of education in Bolivia; promoting innovative teaching and learning strategies, encouraging the use of technology in the classroom and training teachers willing to work in these vulnerable areas.
