We provide early quality education and healthy meals for children (0-6yrs) living in extreme poverty. We began operating Alajuelita's Child Center recently. However, due to a lack of funding, we are not achieving the child center's sustainability. With YOUR HELP we will be able to keep this child center running. If we don't raise enough money, Fundacion DEHVI won't be able to benefit 75 children in need in Alajuelita.
Fundacion DEHVI began operating Alajuelita's Child Center earlier this year. We knew it was a big risk; however, due to Alajuelita's insecurity, poverty, and lack of opportunities, we knew that we needed to begin working in this community in order to make a change in its population. The problem is that we were expecting more support from the public and private sector, but because of external factors (such as presidential elections) we don't have enough economic resources to keep operating it.
If we are able to raise $10,000 with all of your generous contributions, we will be able to operate Alajuelita's child center for a few more months. In the meantime, this will help us strengthen partnerships with the private and public sector in order to raise more funds and achive its sustainability. This will help us provide access to 75 children, out of the 80 children who are in a waitlist, to a quality early education and alimentation.
If we achieve the sustainability for this child center, we will be able to transform the present and future of hundreds of children in Alajuelita and the country itself. UNICEF states that for every $1 invested in early childhood, there is a return rate of $17. This is so because studies show that by doing this, there is less school desertion, more high school and college graduations, more people in the workfore; and therefore, more people supporting a country's socio-economic development.
