Challenge

In Chile, more than 5,000 children live in residential care facilities after having experienced rights violations. Most of them operate beyond capacity, which often deepens the vulnerability of the children. Separation from their families and experiences of abuse leave deep emotional scars, reflected in more than two years of educational delay, academic difficulties, socio-emotional, psychological, and behavioral problems, as well as impacts on their physical and social development.

Solution

We are improving the quality of residences, with innovation, a professional team, strategic alliances and a very close work with the families, we have developed a model that emphasizes care, education and good habits. All, under a great premise: "The future of the children of Chile is in a family" We include initiatives focused on caring and the well-being of these children. We provide academic reinforcement, psychological therapy to help process trauma, and strengthen emotional bonds.

Long-Term Impact

We aim to transform the residential experience, avoiding stigmatization and offering each child the opportunity to change their life story and envision a different future. We have accompanied 50 children, benefiting more than 250 people, supported children in transitioning to live with their families - whether biological, extended, or adoptive - and have prevented reentry into residential care Our family support model, grounded in a comprehensive and systemic perspective, has proven effective
