Zoo and Children Camp

Hello everybody!

Thank you very much for your support of the children of Tamar Center. We have several updates for you -  so let’s get started:

In the month of October, we had the school holidays in Thailand. For Tamar that meant that instead of 4-5 children we had 16 in our Nursery. As you can imagine that was a lot of work for our Nursery Teacher, but she was not alone. We got some extra help in, did some special activities and made it as nice for the children as possible.

For the first time ever, the older Tamar Kids went to a three-day long Children Camp in Jomtien. We were not sure how that would go as it was the first time for the kids to be away from their parents, but it went very very well. The kids enjoyed the time – during the camp they had many activities, games, outings and enjoyed playing with the other children as well. And the mothers enjoyed a couple of free days as well.

When they were back at Tamar, we took all the children and some of the moms to the Zoo in Sri Racha.  Again, the children enjoyed that a lot – in the evening the parents seemed to be more tired than the children. The children enjoyed feeding some of the animals, looking at them and especially playing on the huge playground in the Zoo. It was a very nice day.

But sadly, we had to say goodbye to our Nursery Teacher, Pi Jim. She had been looking after the Tamar children for more than eight years, but at the end of October her sister had a stroke and is now paralyzed. Pi Jim had to leave Tamar to move back to her family to take care of her sister. We were very sad to see her go and miss her a lot.

Only two days after she resigned from us, we were able to hire a new Teacher for the Nursery. Pi Ari is a very skilled Nursery Teacher. She studied at University for this and worked the last years in a Nursery in Pattaya that closed a couple of month ago and was looking for a new job. She is a perfect fit to our Team; the parents and children enjoy working with her and she brings many new ideas and games to the daily Nursery.

With the new teacher around, we have also decided to upgrade our Nursery. If you are interested in helping us out, you can find the details here:

Good, so much from us for today. Have a great day and thank you for your interest in reading our updates!
