The majority of the children that are welcome into our institution are living in a very precarious emotional state, given the many breaches of their rights they have endured. This explains why studying is the farthest thing from their mind and interest.
“Learning with a broken and wrinkled heart is impossible”, explains Pilar one of the teachers at CRAN. This explains why our staff surround each children with care and love, listening to them and walking hand in hand with each one to find his/her abilities and particular skills.
Such is the case of Fernando, a loving 10 year old boy, tall and strong who during his first stage in CRAN undertook the usual activities for a child his age, such as drawing, cutting or scratching in a blunt and inconstant manner.
Little by little and at his own pace, interacting with his friends, teachers and other persons in CRAN, Fernando acquired the skills and abilities to be able to carry himself normally in the day-to-day.
Soon he also showed his taste for dance and sports. He discovered that teaching his friends how to dance made him happy and he was the leader in the preparation of shows for celebrations and special days such as Teacher’s Day.

La gran mayoría de los niños que ingresan a nuestra institución se encuentran viviendo una situación emocional muy compleja, dadas las circunstancias de vulneración de sus derechos por las que han pasado. Por eso es comprensible que estudiar sea lo que menos quieran.
“Cuando los niños tienen su corazón arrugado, no pueden aprender”, nos explica Pilar, pedagoga de CRAN. De allí que nuestros profesionales rodeen con afecto a cada niño, lo escuchen y acompañen para hallar sus habilidades y potencialidades particulares.
Es el caso de Fernando, un niño amoroso de 10 años, alto y fuerte, que cuando llegó a CRAN asumía las actividades propias de un niño de su edad, como dibujar, recortar o rasgar, con mucha brusquedad y sin constancia.
Poco a poco, a su ritmo, en la interacción con sus amigos, profesores y demás colaboradores de CRAN, Fernando adquirió las destrezas para poder desenvolverse con normalidad en la cotidianidad.
Pronto también en él se reveló su gusto por el baile y por los deportes. Descubrió que lo hacía muy feliz enseñar a sus amigos a bailar y en su colegio lideraba las presentaciones en las celebraciones y los días especiales como el Día del Maestro.
