Sponsored Rural Orphaned Child!

By Charles Olupot | Director

Our pioneer PLE candidate's 2019,
Our pioneer PLE candidate's 2019,

Happy New Year to you all our beloved family of good sponsor's,!

We are happy to report to you again in this year 2022, it has been long since we started the effort of helping rural and orphans and vulnerable street  children in Uganda have the opportunity to get permanent classrooms to study from, before this construction, they studied under tree shades and grass shelter's. Because of your continued donations, some classes have been built and this helped protect children from rains and storms that used to throw away our temporary grass shelter's classes. We are very proud of you and our children have benefited alot from you and can have a place to call a school.

The same new 2 classroom blocks have been used as  accomodations to help street children who have no place to call home sleeping in cold streets, eating from dust bins, and leftovers from or dumplings, making and living unhealthy lives, risky and dangerous for girls and  especially little babies thrown away, one year old street kid with no one willing to help.

The community is struggling with this type of children and if not supported, they die or remain in street life for life. It's in this respect that we started a program  with the help of the Hammerslag family and friends to build better classrooms for the disadvantaged community in Pallisa and children with no parent's and not in school to have such a study center to give them lost hope through caring heart's, and kind sponsorship.

A rural child and orphaned in Uganda

This type of children are children living without hope of  ever making it in life, no home, no parent's, guardians, family to love, and care for their growing up, and most time they are abused and made to seem like they don't matter and not humans, just animals and things to be stepped on. No body cares, they get what to eat, sleep, cloth let alone going to school, those who service hardships are used as beasts on hard labor, life for them is hard to describe and if you get opportunity to speak with one of them you will have tears! It's terrible friend's.

We started with only  five children in boarding in 2014, and by 2015 the school had 30 children safely secured at school and sleeping in the classroom's, sharing the same rooms for study and at night the children put their mats on the floor and sleep, we had only two classes, and no place for teachers and other staff for accomodations. Life was hard but learning was taking place and  one other challenge was feeding and clothing and providing medical care to this children.

One Great outcome, your support has enabled this children to sit for primary leaving examinations called PLE starting in 2019, ten children were able to complete primary education cycle and in 2020 COVID-19 struck and our examinations for the candidate was interrupted. Schooling has just resumed and slowly we are getting our students back to class and mostly street children.

Schooling opened 10th January 2022!

Presently, 200 of such children are available and needing help, and we pay to keep such a child at school for a single term 300,000/ Uganda shillings about 85$ USD, to pay for his or her scholastic, tuition, and other educational needs, uniform and medical, this is not enough but sufficient to keep the children at school and learn, without it, they stay wasted. For example

85 USD  per term

255 USD per year

20 USD if paid on monthly, recurring payments.

Currently, we have 200, such children needing sponsor help  and from the start of our effort not such a commitment has been available for this children, most funds have been to help build better classrooms and toilet facility which were very poor before we got your support and we are always praying to get some sponsor to build  children's and staff accomodations, and more toilet facility especially for teachers who share with children school toilets. The following are urgently needed

Girls Dormitory!

This will help protect recovered street girls from going back or getting rapped, pregnant or disease such as HIV aid's, young mothers with no help to raise babies. Construction of such a good house will be a safe place to protect and educated this disadvantaged girls and future mother's. It's will cost about 10,000 USD to get a this structure complete with a good toilet and wash rooms , also change room for their menstrual periods. If more funds are available, it would help construction of an insenarator, water tank to help girls wash other than going out in the villages to collect water on their heads. These are children who are already traumatized, they do not need much harsh condition while at school after leaving street life, also more funds to feed them are required, help our small donor community to improve on these children learning and living environment.

We welcome volunteers, and any willing sponsor to help build more classrooms, children's accomodations to join us in making it possible for these children go to school.

Additionally, we request individual donors to pay for a particular child full tuition for a year this will help reduce the load that is currently given to the little funds received each month to address Al the nneds the disadvantaged girls and school is facing.

Help bring hope to this children.Sponsor a street child today! Chose one sponsor one and change her story!

 God bless you all! Amen.
