Homeless Animals Hospital Vet Patrol

Greetings Friends!

The Homeless Animals Hospital is a multi-faceted approach to helping as many animals as possible within our means. The Vet Patrol is a project under Homeless Animals Hospital. Using HOPE mobile clinic, the Vet Patrol can actually move into the most needy areas.

In October and November, the Vet Patrol visited a village slum east of Bucharest. Here there are animals who have never seen a vet, people who have never heard of preventative animal care, vaccines, or spays for humane animal control. Gaining the trust of these people is extremely difficult, but in time they learn we are there only to help.

Dr. Aurelian Stefan brought the HOPE mobile clinic to the middle of the village. Children as well as elders brought strays and the animals they care for for treatment. A number of animals came back with Dr. Aurelian and the volunteers to stay at the Center of Hope for long term treatments. Puppies needed treatment for skin diseases, bites, and vaccinations. Dogs were brought in for spays and neuters. A poor little soul named Columbus was found in a stack of wood sticks with a broken leg. He was brought to the Center where his leg was amputed, he was neutered, deparasited, and we are currently working on finding him a forever home.

Bella

Hello Friends,

Meet Bella.

Bella was abandoned like garbage on the street . Most likely the tumor hanging on her chest and the deep wounds were too much for the people who probably used her as a puppy farm mommy. She was brought to the Center of Hope near Bucharest by a Good Samaritan for help with our Homeless Animals Hospital program. She needed treatment and surgery including fixing her cruciate ligament rupture that made her walking very painful.

Homeless Animals Hospital project helped Bella at no cost to the person who found her on the streets. Were it not for our HAH project, Bella may not have never received the costly help she needed.

Every single day we receive animals that are suffering and need help. They rely on us and we rely on you, our donors, to support this vital first of its kind project that offers free or subsidized veterinary care for the most needy who have no other help.

Another patient we helped just this week was a tiny kitty whose eye was bulging out from a serious injury. She was brought into the Family Vet clinic in Craiova where Homeless Animals Hospital project also runs. We feel the image of her prior to surgery is too distressing to post, so we have posted the after surgery photo. She is now pain free and will be a one-eyed kitty. Her impoverished rescuer is so very grateful. Had we not been able to help this kitty, her rescuer may not have taken her into her home as she was not able to afford the surgery costs from another clinic.

These animals and so many more have received help from us, thanks to YOU. But the demand for our help is constant, and we once again turn to you for your support. Please consider a donation of any size to help Homeless Animals Hospital to continue to serve the most needy. Thank you!
