Through our projects we are supporting children who are living in poverty orphans, and those living with physical and intellectual disability in Eastern Europe.
In Ukraine, we support projects that bring hope to vulnerable families and children, to internally placed refugees and people living in the Donbass region, we help children who have been traumatized by the continuous conflict in the region.
We also support projects that help children living with disabilities in the Makariv a region, up until recently children with disabilities had no access to rehabilitation therapies and had to travel into and beyond Kiev (a round trip of over 7 hours). The Little Lighthouse opened only a few months ago and has already transformed the life of vulnerable disabled children.
We had stories of children walking for the first time, the wonderful story of an autistic child- Borysko that interacted for the first time with people outside his family at the age of 12. His diagnosis, severe autism. He could not eat or dress on his own. He will be shouting and screaming loud almost constantly. That was his response to almost everything. He was very aggressive towards his parents, but everything changed after just 4 months of intensive therapy.
He is now able to follow instructions , learned his ABC’s and is a different child. Very recently, he played football with his father, something that his father never expected to happen.
Thanks to the dedicated work of the staff at The Little Lighthouse, his parents can now dream that one day he might be able to live an independent life.
Thanks to your kind support, this family can dream of a better future for their child.
Thank you for making our work possible
With gratitude
