Thank you for your generous donation to the Hurricane Helene Relief Fund. Donations to this GlobalGiving Fund are already making a difference, helping to provide immediate relief to those affected by the devastation of Hurricane Helene throughout the Southeast.

Your generous contributions to the Hurricane Helene Relief Fund are providing emergency relief to survivors of the storm. With your support, our partners at the forefront of this crisis are helping survivors access electricity and internet to contact their loved ones,  launching clean-up services, and helping affected families navigate resources like FEMA assistance.

Here is a short description of some of the critical work you’ve supported:

  • Unity in Disasters is helping Hurricane Helene survivors clean up after the storm, find flexible resources for support, and take on home repairs. Its team is focused on helping renters and underinsured individuals and families who are less able to access recovery assistance.
  • Institute for Diversity and Inclusion in Emergency Management is conducting outreach and assessment of areas hit hardest by Helene to ensure that all needs are met and voices heard, especially disenfranchised communities in Georgia, the Carolinas, and Florida who face a long road to recovery from the storm.
  • SBP is helping the most at-risk survivors navigate the FEMA appeals program in order to unlock funding to support their full recoveries, including support for home repairs and rebuilds in partnership with local organizations and state officials.

We will continue to keep you updated about the impact of your donation in the weeks and months to come. Your generous support of the GlobalGiving Hurricane Helene Relief Fund powers community-led efforts, ensuring that people in North Carolina, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Virginia, and other impacted areas receive the essential resources they need to recover.

With gratitude,

Amelia + the GlobalGiving Team

About GlobalGiving’s Disaster Response

When a disaster strikes, recovery efforts led by people who live and work in affected communities are often overlooked and underfunded. GlobalGiving is changing this reality. Since 2004, we've been shifting decision-making power to crises-affected communities through trust-based grantmaking and support.

We make it easy, quick, and safe to support people on the ground who understand needs in their communities better than anyone else.

They were there long before the news cameras arrived, and they’ll be there long after the cameras leave. They know how to make their communities more resilient to future disasters, and they’re already hard at work. GlobalGiving puts donations and grants directly into their hands. Because the status quo—which gives the vast majority of funding to a few large organizations—doesn’t make sense.
