IBB ZOO EMERGENCY RESCUE MISSION, Yemen

On behalf of the Support Yemeni Society Organization, I would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering support of our humanitarian initiative, the IBB ZOO EMERGENCY RESCUE MISSION, Yemen. Your generous contributions have made a significant impact; we are truly thankful for that.

Dear Generous Donors,

I would like to share both encouraging and concerning news regarding the situation at Ibb Zoo.

The positive update is that our dedicated SYS team continues to work tirelessly on this vital project. Despite facing numerous challenges, we have successfully distributed food to the lions and hyenas, fresh fruits and vegetables to the monkeys, meat for the eagles, hay for the horses, seeds for the birds, and nourishing grass for the donkeys.

However, we must also report a tragic incident: a lioness escaped from her enclosure last week, which resulted in her being shot. This occurred due to overcrowding within the enclosures, highlighting the urgent need for more spacious habitats and repairs to the aging fences.

Progress Update:

I am pleased to inform you of the significant strides we have made thus far:

• We have constructed three spacious and humane enclosures for eagles, baboons, and lions, prioritizing their safety and well-being.
• Food and water are being distributed regularly to all animals in Ibb Zoo.
• We have provided essential medications and vaccines to address the animals' health needs.
• An awareness campaign has been launched to emphasize the importance of protecting the animals at Ibb Zoo.
• We have recruited numerous volunteers to support the zoo staff in caring for the animals.
• Ongoing distribution of vaccines and medical care continues.

Dear Generous Donors,

Despite these efforts, it is clear that we need to create larger and safer enclosures for lions and other animals. The current conditions at Ibb Zoo are not ideal, and there is much work to be done. Visitors to the zoo need safe and comfortable places in the Zoo. Together, we can ensure every animal has a safe and comfortable habitat.
