This One Is Great To Remember: Kindness Is Beautiful.

We want you to know this holiday season that we appreciate you very much. We couldn’t think of our favorite time and forget to share the joy of the year with you.

You made this year even more beautiful with your support and gifts that transcend any physical space there is between us.

Kindness Is a Virtue

I am saying this because, on Thursday, December 16th, girls in the tutoring program in Bankondji made a wonderful gesture that warmed our hearts. They treated their tutors to a surprise dinner.

According to Aumazo’s Deputy Director Raïssa, “the teachers went to Bankondji {the tutoring program flagship center} to play soccer with the girls. They discovered that the girls had prepared a meal for their educators. It was a terrific and joyous day. They did not consult with their tutors before taking action. The gesture demonstrates their maturity and validates the work we are doing.”

The girls’ gesture reflects their sense of humanity for others. No one pressured them or suggested to them to take the initiative. They could have played the soccer game and left with a simple goodbye. They did not. They understood that being kind is a virtue that makes people extraordinary.

Kindnee Is Humanity

They remind us also that humanity is well and alive. It is something that you showed us day in day out throughout the year. We appreciate you so much for being so consistent with your act of kindness toward Aumazo.

With your action you bore testimony to our character and confirm that we are on this journey together. We urge you to continue sharing the same spirit and spread the word around you.

Life is beautiful when we share our grace with others. Encourage your friends and family to consider joining our movement of kindness. Let’s grow our community of kindness-sharers together.

We Mean It! Thank You for Being A Transformer

The holiday season is upon us. The transformation officially starts at Aumazo with ThanksSharing. This year is unique. For 24 hours from 00:00:00 EST to 23:59:59 EST on November 30, 2021, GlobalGiving is offering a $1,000,000 Incentive Fund which will be distributed proportionally among participants.

The good news doesn’t end there. GlobalGiving is giving us all possible incentives to continue and strengthen the transformation of the programs. You are welcome to donate up to a ceiling of $2,500 to be eligible to receive Incentive Funds.

Elisee's Inspiring Resilience

We are thrilled to know that there are additional opportunities to sustain the education of other girls in the tutoring program, such as Elisee. She is one of the early graduates of the tutoring program.

Elisee’s jaw-dropping transformation is exceptional. She reviewed all her ordeals and recounted the challenges she faced during the academic year in a statement to us. “I spent two of the three quarters in a hospital bed. However, I was determined to complete my education. I wouldn’t let the illness take away everything I have worked for for the last five years. I thought of the sacrifices Aumazo donors made to support my education. That gave me the strength to fight. In the end, I won. I had only one quarter to catch up for the entire school year. I did and obtained my high school diploma.”

Sustaining Our Successful Educational Programs

Elisee’s resilience and determination encourage us to do more for girls in our programs. She represents and embodies the spirit Aumazo instills in every girl who joins our programs.

The celebration of this unprecedented transformation occurring for girls in our programs is our collective victory. We can continue to win if we band together.

You Have To Hear This! We Hit A 100% Success Rate.

Yes! You heard that right. All 17 girls in the tutoring program who took the high school entrance exam in 2020-2021 succeeded. The news knocked our socks off for excellent reasons.

First, we took some risks during the pandemic to extend our reach and included 2 new tutoring centers. The program’s success in Bankondji played against us because we only had 2 girls in 8th grade. This situation has proven to be counterproductive. The tutoring program was becoming very expensive, but we were also losing the essence of the program.
Second, taking risks paid off because we transitioned smoothly from 1 to 3 centers. We have benefited enormously from the trouble we avoided. We went from 1 to 3 without logistical difficulties while still managing the 3 centers on a shoestring. Above all, we achieved considerable progress.

Scaling The Tutoring Program

We are thrilled to share this success story with you. You are one of the fundamental pillars the organization relies on to continue gaining momentum towards success.

Nonetheless, while we are celebrating our success, demand for our programs is increasing. We initially registered 43 girls in the three centers during this new academic year 2021-2022.

We are up to the challenge. As Thierry, one of the tutors in our program, said, “No matter what life throws at us in this program, we always keep our eyes on the prize, that is the success of the girls we're committed to.” Thierry embodies Aumazo’s go-getter spirit. We have never faltered. How could we? We owe it to the girls.

Hitting 100% of Our Milestones Together

Even more, we respect and cherish your undeniable willingness to support Aumazo, especially your investment in the girls’ future. We are a winning team. Together, we will hit 100% of our milestones again this coming year. That can happen if you agree to work in sync with us.

As a team member, we appreciate your financial means. We also suggest that you share your expertise with us. We have done well as an all-volunteer organization until now. However, we are losing steam and believe that if you add a little nugget to our effort, we could do wonders together.
