Impacting in a positive way
By Margarita Pilier | Project Coordinator
Dear donor, may you receive a warm greeting. Because of you, we can keep helping young people living with economic deprivation. Donations from caring people like you enable us to build a better future for the students of the Ann & Ted Kheel Polytechnic School.
Truthfully, we could not do this without you. We, and those we serve, sincerely appreciate your generosity.
We are involved in the developing stages of our project. The details are the following:
- The staffing of the office that will host the Neo-RD Alliance project (mentioned in previous reports) has been delayed due to some bureaucracy matters, given that not only our partner Neo-RD Alliance/Educa is involved but the Ministry of Education of the DR as well.
- Aiming to improve the operational efficiency, a modern peripheral sound system and an electronic door at the administrative office have been installed
- 13 recent graduates are concluding a two-month internship at Grupo Puntacana company (in the areas of Hospitality, Maintenance, Laundry and Water/Power Services) who were granted with the corresponding work benefits, in order to complement the technical skills training provided by the school through the direct contact with the work environment, which will influence their future profession and create job opportunities for them.
- Three students performed on the last September at the “Third Punta Cana Poetry Festival” (at Puntacana Village), reciting their own poems. Also forty students participated in a “Literary Workshop” at the facilities of the school, which was taught by a female Dominican poet.
- A few days ago we sponsored the participation of twenty first graders in the “Conciertos de la Villa”, a classical music event of high artistic quality which allows the assessing to the cultural and historical wealth of the Colonial City of Santo Domingo. Please see the pictures attached to this report In the upcoming months we will keep you updated on the progress of our project.

Better future
By Margarita Pilier | Project Coordinator
Dear donor, may you receive a warm greeting. We continue focused on getting better life conditions for the students and all of the members of the Ann & Ted Kheel Polytechnic School in the community of Veron, through the improvement of this educational center.
Your support has made the difference in this process !.
We are still involved in the developing stages of our project.
We are glad to share with you the facts of our project in the last months:
The details are the following:
- The equipping stage of the administrative offices and the office that will host the Neo-RD Alliance project (mentioned in previous reports) has begun. Please see the pictures attached. We hope to finish as soon as possible with the collaboration of our partner Neo-RD Alliance/Educa. Please see the picture attached.
- We are currently enhancing even more the facilities. The Ministry of Education of the Dominican Republic donated a set of modern equipment (valued at RD$ 3 millions) for the chemistry, physics and biology lessons, as a way to recognize the good performance of the school. In that sense, we are adapting a space (laboratory) to accommodate the equipment and initiating a training program to the personnel responsible for teaching these subjects, in order to take advantage of this donation in the best possible way. Please see the picture attached
- The school hosted a “Talk on Hispanic Literature” by the renowned Professor Santiago Garcia-Castañón and a Cultural Exchange event together with the Samford’s School of the Arts. Please the pictures attached
- Also we began the Voluntary Military Service program together with the Security Department of Grupo Puntacana and the Ministry of National Defense, it consist on training programs in human values directed to the students to turn them into men and women at the service of the country and its development. Please see the picture attached.
In the upcoming months we will keep you updated on the progress of our project.
