IMPROVE SCHOOL FOR 700 DOMINICAN STUDENTS IN NEED

Dear donors, may you receive our warmest greeting and deepest gratitude. The generous contribution of individuals like you helps us continue in our mission to improve the life conditions of the members of the Ann & Ted Kheel Polytechnic School and to help them to build a better future.

We are delighted to share with you the facts of our project in the last months:

The details are the following:

• The expansion of the administrative offices and the construction of the office that will host the Neo-RD Alliance project (mentioned in previous reports) has already begun and going very well. Please see the one picture attached.
• As part of our co-curricular activities program a Theater Workshop is taking place at the school along this month, it benefit the students in terms of: Self confidence, improving the physical and oral expression, self-knowledge, self-esteem, concentration, disinhibition, body control, relaxation and increased creativity, among others. On the other hand, two students performed on the last September at the Punta Cana Poetry Festival (at Puntacana Village), reciting their own poems, and a group of twenty students participated in the Artistic Expression Workshop and enjoyed a Photography Exhibition at the Puntacana Art Gallery, as part of the aforementioned festival. Please see the three pictures attached.
• Also we held on last August an Assertive Communication Skills Workshop with the participation of the teachers and the administrative staff of the school, aiming to give them the tools to express their ideas and feelings in an honest and positive way in order to improve their performance and interpersonal relationships. Please see the one picture attached.

You are making a real difference in the lives of the students we serve at the Ann & Ted Kheel Polytechnic School in the vulnerable community of Verón, because education can put them on a path towards employment and empowerment and it can help to build a more prosperous community.    

We are delighted to share with you the facts of our project in the last months:

The details are the following:

• On the last June we held the 11th graduation ceremony, in which 66 students were graduated. To date 722 young people from low-income families have graduated from high school, plus technical skills. Please see 3 pictures attached.
• The expansion of the administrative offices and the construction of the office that will host the Neo-RD Alliance project (mentioned in previous reports) will begin in the upcoming days, we have already begun the purchasing of the construction materials.
• We are taking advantage of the summer vacation to elaborate the calendar of the training activities for the teachers and the co-curricular activities for the students, among others. After an evaluation of our technicians, we are starting the maintenance labors of the all facilities (roof sealing, indoor painting, land scape, electrical installations, lighting, bathrooms repairing and so on)
