Summary

The project aim to i) provide timely meals to enhance access to quality education and boost enrollment, attendance, retention and performance ii) Provide safe and protective learning environment through training of teachers/PTAs/SMCs and learners on GBV and psycho social support and improve WASH in schools by forming hygiene clubs and IEC to reduce risk of contracting disease iii) 8295(4231 boys, 4064 girls) Children in supported school benefit from school feeding

Challenge

The myriads of challenges facing the education sector in South Sudan ranging from among others; attacks and the destruction of schools, occupation of school by armed forces, poor sanitation and hygiene in schools, the non-functionality of schools and school closures due to insecurity, the limited accessibility to schools due to poor school infrastructure and economic decline in the country negatively impacted on education and the potential of the people to survive. Famine and food crisis

Solution

Save lives by providing timely and integrated multi-sector assistance and services to reduce acute needs among the most vulnerable women, men, girls and boys

Long-Term Impact

The indirect beneficiaries in 3 locations of Kajo keji, Yei and Raga will comprise of households of direct beneficiaries benefiting from the project.Include households of teachers, PTA/SMCs members and learners. Indirect beneficiaries include business community supplying food stuff, building materials, firewood and those benefiting from the hygiene, cholera and Ebola messaging passed on to them by learners & those trained.Projected estimated number of direct beneficiaries esti 55,000 persons
