By Mary Mutuku | Project Officer
It is my pleasure to present our project progress report for the 1st quarter (January-March 2020). The project: Provide safe and clean water for 1500 children and women is aimed at improving water supply and sustaining it to serve the Mutulani community in Makueni County, Kenya.
This quarter was characterized by heavy rains with bumper harvests of the farm products planted during the October-November rains. The period was embraced by all the community members due to the high production despite some challenges that manifested randomly in some parts of the Country like the Locusts manifestation among other pests and the heavy rains which affected some crops that does not require much water
The communities have been learning ways of addressing their own issues locally especially dealing with the pests and exploring local fundraising from various partners to support in achieving sustainable water source in the area. The community through MAWE CBO approached Africa Sand Dam Foundation, followed with the County Government and the National Government Constituency Development Fund and finally to Davis and Shirtliff towards equipping Mutulani borehole.
We are making a kind request to all our donors to continue supporting this noble cause of transforming Mutulani area towards achieving a sustainable water source. We also extend our appreciation to the GlobalGiving Program Team for the continued support in actualizing this dream.
Thank you,
