Jothisri studies in grade 10 at
Isha Vidhya's Dharmapuri school.
She had got admission for her school
studies at Isha Vidhya Dharmapuri,
as her family felt that the fee would be
affordable as her family didn’t have
adequate resources.
She joined Isha Vidhya school in
Grade 3. Her father Selvam was
working in a granite company as
a machine operator. Her mother
is a housewife. Her father being
the only breadwinner of the family,
he was not paid during the Covid
lockdown period. When this issue
was raised, he was stopped from
the job itself.
A case is going on regarding this
issue, and he has to travel to
Krishnagiri, the nearby district,
weekly twice or thrice for court
hearings. The family is struggling
a lot to meet the routine expenses.
Temporarily, her father is working
as a delivery man in a helpline.
Despite all these struggles,
Jothisri attended online classes
regularly, sent homework, and
participated in the activities
enthusiastically. We admire her
punctuality in joining the online
class with proper school uniform
and attire.
We are fascinated about Jothisri's
curiosity in playing games. She is
confident. In academics, initially
she was toggling between below
average and average. Now she has
improved a lot and she is one among
the top 10 in her class.
Jothisri shares that her life and
studies seemed like a Himalayan
task, but once things became clear
about what to do, everything became
easier to manage.
Isha Vidhya enables several rural
children of India like Jothisri. If you
would like to be part of this cause,
you can consider starting a recurring
donation for a small amount in the
link provided below.
Thank you for all you have done
for Isha Vidhya, and we look forward
for your continued engagement.
Thanks & Best Regards.
