At Chimes Israel, our immediate focus is helping our families in the south who are closed in their safe rooms with their family member with disabilities. Since they have less than 15 seconds to seek shelter after the siren sounds, they are inclined to stay in the safe room all day and night since their disabilities prevent them from making that 15 second escape. Please give what you can for the purchase of medical supplies, food, and equipment for our Chimes families in the south.
The people with disabilities and their families who Chimes Israel serves are invisible victims of the war between Hamas and Israel. With our early childhood, adult rehabilitative day care, and employment centers closed, our people need more help than ever.
Many of our Chimes parents have low paying per diem jobs. Now unable to work because they are at home caring for their children, they are falling deeper into poverty. We are fundraising for essential items - daily requisites such as medicines, toiletries, diapers, food, and clothing. Equipment to maintain treatment at home. Technology for maintaining contact. Donations to fund psychological counseling.
Our organization, which provides daytime solutions to over 1400 people with disabilities and their families, is also in jeopardy due to this war. Our 27 centers are closed during this war and the expected operative losses will be between $60,000 to $90,000. In addition, we need a reserve fund of $100,000 to restore our facilities damaged due to the war and meet our people's needs should anything worse happen.
