Since the escalation of hostilities on November 28, approximately one million people have been displaced internally, including 155,000 people experiencing secondary displacement. The majority of those displaced are women and children, with women and girls comprising nearly 50% of those forced to flee their homes. The most affected governorate is Aleppo, with 542,600 displaced persons, followed by Hama (347,100) and Homs (26,000).
The key challenge revolves around addressing the severe food insecurity experienced by Syrian int IDPs and returnees. Aleppo Governorate suffers from a shortage of food supplies, most bakeries are out of order, and most children and women, especially pregnant and lactating women, suffer from food insecure.
Provide essential food assistance to Syrian IDPs and returnees, addressing urgent hunger needs while fostering resilience and long-term stability in affected communities.
In the long term, the project is expected to foster community resilience, empowering individuals and families to adapt to their circumstances and work towards stability. Additionally, it will contribute to their integration into new environments, laying the foundation for sustainable recovery and development.
