By Lori Cohen | Executive Director
From August 5-9th, 2024, The Beagle Alliance launched the “Good Trouble in Canada” mission and headed to the U.S. to rescue ten former research beagles and bring them to Canada. The mission was named in memory of Founder, Lori Cohen’s late dog, Trouble, who was seen as “good trouble.”
The intent was to place these beagles into loving homes and prove that they could go from LAB to LOVE – even though the laboratories said they would never be fit for domestic life.
Named after Canadian celebrities who love and advocate for animals, Jann, Pamela, Bryan, Seth, Michael, Donny, Keanu, Geddy, Tim and Ryan are now settled and living like all dogs deserve across 3 provinces in Canada!
Still adjusting to the world around them, all our former research beagles prove daily, their ability to forgive and to move forward – leaving a very dark past behind. An important lesson for us all.
The “Good Trouble in Canada” Rescue Tour continues this October, when we will bring 6 more lucky beagles from harm to safety, from a confinement to freedom – from LAB to LOVE!
Maybe cliché, but it really does take a village, and no single person or rescue can do it all. WE NEED YOUR HELP. Please consider what is in your heart to give – so that each of these beautiful souls have every opportunity to thrive – and The Beagle Alliance can continue to offer a second chance to so many more in 2025.
Thank you to our community – YOU are the reason these dogs are FREE!
