A family can be described in a number of ways.
Yes, we are born into a family, but we also choose friends whom we consider family.
We place our trust in them - we confide in them, we lean on them, count on them, and we in turn would do anything for them. They make us happy - they offer joy and sometimes a cure for loneliness. Our day is brighter when we see them and theirs when they see us.
We adopt them - and sometimes they are dogs.
