Langoni’s Old Peoples renovation has been a complete success. The sixteen residents absolutely enjoy their newly renovated space!
Currently, we are continuing fundraising to provide weekly fresh fruits four days a week for the residents in order to provide nutritional snacks. Additionally, we have started discussions with an occupational therapist about dementia curriculum and diversified physical exercises to include fun physical games and resources.
Unfortunately one of our residents recently passed away. He joined the African Impact family in August of 2017 at 90 years old. Due to funds available from this fundraiser, funeral costs were fully covered for this resident. This type of support is vital as the Wazee do not have any family to provide towards the costs. The funds supported a nice coffin, burial, flowers, church with a choir, service and food.
We would love to introduce you to one of our residents who is benefitted from this fund. Celebrating 100 years of age, Mr. Michael is a gentle character and can noramlly be found under the tree, in the shade, taking an afternoon nap. Due to a severe eye infection, he can no longer see but that doesn't stop Mr. Michael getting stuck into afternoon activities. He's quite the mover and shaker on the dance floor!
We are all eager to continue supporting Langoni and all the residents and excited to be able to provide nutritional weekly snacks and implementing a curriculum to improve their overall health.
Without your previous support, the residents would not have a beautiful space to live in and supported on a weekly basis. Thank you to everyone who has supported us along the way and eager to continue to update you how the residents are doing.
