NEW Learning Center for children in poverty Mexico

Thanks to the continuous support of our generous donors, we have reached a significant milestone by initiating the construction process of our Mayama Training Center in 2023. Additionally, thanks to the efforts of our technical and administrative team, we have obtained all the necessary technical, legal, and environmental permits to make this ambitious development and training center in Tlaquepaque, Jalisco possible.

The construction of the Mayama Learning Center has involved engaging the local community to participate in the construction process, providing employment opportunities, and fostering a sense of ownership towards this infrastructure. The center will offer services for children, adolescents, and their families, aiming to promote community development and transformation.

This innovative center is designed to provide a comprehensive space where children and families can access a variety of services and facilities. The primary focus is on promoting the development of children, nurturing essential life skills, and strengthening family competencies to ensure a more prosperous future and sustainable well-being.

In the coming months, we will consistently share significant progress updates on the construction with our donor community. Additionally, we will launch strategic fundraising campaigns to acquire essential construction materials such as bricks and cement, as well as to equip the facilities with state-of-the-art resources.

During this period, we are proud to announce the organization of the fourth golf tournament, dedicated to supporting the construction of the new Mayama center. We anticipate the participation of 132 individuals who, through their active engagement, will contribute the necessary resources to ensure the successful completion of this contemporary infrastructure. We aim to have it finalized by 2024, with the potential to benefit over 250 girls and boys each year.

The upcoming Mayama day center will serve as our new home—a place to manifest our mission. It will also stand as a testament to the necessity of shifting public policies concerning children in Mexico. This shift entails adopting a broader and more systemic approach to interventions designed for both girls and boys, who are navigating a challenging environment that can impede their personal development and impact their communities.

This construction project, spanning 747.28 square meters, will provide us with a solid foundation to maintain our position as a leading organization dedicated to the development and rights of girls and boys in the State of Jalisco. The Mayama day center will serve as our institution's headquarters and will serve as a catalyst for the expansion of the Mayama Educational Model to other regions in the country. These regions often face conditions of poverty, exclusion, and violence that affect children and their families.
