This project will provide education and learning materials for 113 street kids who have been subjected to street begging and abuse. The increasing number of street kids is a major concern and needs to be drastically reduced in order to project a brighter future. These children need to be enrolled and provided with learning materials. Your donation will undoubtedly put smiles on the faces of these children and give them hope of a better tomorrow.
From reliable statistics, Nigeria has one of the largest number of street kids. With children under 15 years of age accounting for 45% of the over 171 million population, the burden of education has become overwhelming. Primary school enrollment has increased in recent years, but net attendance is only about 75% but Nigeria still has over 10.5 million out-of-school children - the world's highest number (UNICEF 2019). This project will affect over 113 children in the Federal Capital Territory.
Combating the menace of illiteracy and drastically reducing the indiscriminate increase in the number of street kids is a one-way innovation. Street kids in target areas will be provided with education and learning materials by enrolling them into good schools and also provide them with nutrition in a bid to motivate them and also discourage their parents from these abuses for the sake of daily food. A team of supervisor will periodically visit the schools to ensure they actively participate.
This project will educate over 113 street kids, help them with learning materials and also provide them with proper nutrition, thereby reducing their vulnerability to crime and social abuse. The children enrolled will be a beacon of hope and encouragement to their peers in the dark cells of alms begging and social abuse.
