In late November just before the Christmas holidays a ceasefire was reached between Hezbollah and Israel. When this happened there were many that returned to their homes but there were also many who could not return because there was no home to return to.
Many of these remain in shelters or with family members waiting for springtime to rebuild. During this cold winter in between TM continues to help. Many families remain seperated also with father and older sons returning to the south and mother and young children remaining in Beirut. These families continue to recieve help also. Recently we worked with a local supermarket that has locations in both Beirut and the south to provide gifts cards with money for families to get groceries.
There was so much joy when they received the cards and you could see relief as some of them felt a burden lift as they realized they had a little bit of flexibility this month.
We are so thankful for the donors and those who have aided and continue to aid those who were caught in the middle.
