Hello fellow Friends and Supporters of Turkish Philanthropy Funds (TPF)

We are very pleased to end the year, having raised over $1,000.00 on Globalgiving!

Keeping Turkish Youth off the streets is a campaign and a cause we are very passionate about as unemployment and school drop out rates have become troublesome in Turkey.  As studies suggest, over 3 million Turkish youth between the ages 15-29 are unemployed.  Likewise, an average of 2,000 students drop out each day during the school year, according to a report by the Education Reform Initiative.  Learning disabilities constituted the main reasons behind these dropouts.  The report also revealed that girls drop out earlier than boys. These figures demonstrate the necessity for more programs or projects focusing on providing youth new avenues and opportunities.

It is TPF’s fundamental belief that educating and employing youth is an integral part of building livelihoods.  It is with this belief that we decided to fund one of our partner’s projects, Nesin Mathematics Village.  Nesin Mathematics Village, houses up to 150 students over the summer as a math learning camp. The goal of the Mathematics Village is to help support children with educational needs and ensure their development.  The village also focuses on reducing two obstacles children face when learning mathematics, fear of failure and lack of focus. The funds, we have raised on Globalgiving with your generous donations, went to this great cause and will make the biggest impact on the children who will be learning mathematics in an entirely different setting. Now, students who will be attending the math summer camp can overcome these obstacles while learning mathematics.   Click here to learn more about this project.

Your generous donations make a direct impact on the lives of many in Turkey.  As TPF, we make sure your donations make the most impact and appreciate your continued support of our projects.

We thank you for your support!
